Welcome To SCAN Foundation

Southern California Agriculture and Nutrition (SCAN) Foundation supports the education of nutrition and agriculture in the classroom by providing funds for curriculum and supplies to elementary and secondary school teachers and their students through the 48th District Agricultural Association (DAA).

Vision Statement

The SCAN Foundation foresees the growth of knowledge of basic nutrition and agriculture throughout our society to meet the needs of our younger generation.

Who We Are

The Southern California Agriculture and Nutrition Foundation (SCAN) is a 501c3 public charity providing financial support to the State of California’s 48th District Agricultural Association (DAA) for over 40 years.

The 48th DAA is one of 54 District Agricultural Associations, part of the CA Network of Fairs, under the Division of Fairs and Expositions, CA Dept. of Food and Agriculture.

Their mandate is to put on a fair, which became increasingly difficult as they  lost their fairgrounds and the area became more urbanized.

The mission of SCAN is to educate elementary and secondary school teachers and their students about agriculture and nutrition.
